2011 Hyundai Genesis Coupe Preview – The Car Connection
Source: MotorAuthority.com
Anyone that’s familiar with Hyundai’s work over the past few years knows that the stylized ‘H’ on the grille no longer stands for “heap.” in fact, several of Hyundai’s vehicles are giving top-tier luxury manufacturers a run for their money, and that’s before the 2011 Equus even hits the streets. the Genesis Coupe is another of the brand’s cars that proves performance and luxury can be found at many price points.
Sure, it’s not a BMW M3. No one’s saying it is. But considering it runs with the Infiniti G37 Coupe, Ford Mustang, and Chevrolet Camaro in terms of performance while delivering near-luxury interior accommodations (in the higher trim levels), it’s a performance/luxury bargain that can be had fully loaded in 3.8 Track trim for just over $30,000.
The 2011 model pushes the car even further toward the luxury realm, with improved soft-touch, matte-finish surfaces on the doors, dash, and glove box, plus new “metalgrain” accents on the center stack, door handles, vents, and steering wheel, padded door arm rests, a more “premium” steering wheel leather, an improved multi-information display screen, and a host of other small interior tweaks.
Also new for 2011 is the 3.8 R-Spec model, satisfying those that want a V-6 instead of the 2.0-liter turbocharged engine that was the only R-Spec option last year. Navigation and automatic temperature control are now standard on the 2.0T Premium model as well.
The new Genesis Coupe lineup consists of six models: the 2.0T, 2.0T Premium, 2.0T R-Spec, 3.8 Grand Touring, 3.8 Track, and 3.8 R-Spec. the 2010 lineup models that are dropped for 2011 are the 3.8 base model, and 2.0T Track.
